Are you working and claiming Universal Credit? Help to Save means that for every £1 you put in, you get an extra 50p on top.
When you open a Help to Save account you can pay in up to £50 a month, and the government will give you a tax free bonus of 50% after two years, and another after four years.
If you pay in the maximum amount, you could claim one thousand two hundred pounds as a bonus.
You can access your savings at any time through your online account or with the HMRC app.
It’s worth knowing that withdrawals can take up to three working days.
Once you open your Help to Save account you can keep it for four years, even if you’re no longer working or claiming Universal Credit.
