We have recently launched MoneyHelper and wanted to tell you a bit more about our new website: why we’ve created it, what it is and how it will help you moving forward.
What is MoneyHelper?
MoneyHelper is here to help you gain more confidence in managing your money so you can move on with your life. Here to cut through the jargon and complexity, explain what you need to do and how you can do it. Here to put you in control, with free, impartial help that’s quick to find, easy to use and backed by government.
We used to be three organisations: the Money Advice Service, The Pensions Advisory Service and Pension Wise. Now we’ve taken all our expertise and information and brought them together into one place to easily answer all your money and pension-related queries.
Who is MoneyHelper for?
Anyone who wants to better manage their money and doesn’t know where to start. We’re here to help you improve your financial wellbeing and to help guide you through any of life’s trickier circumstances and changes.
How can MoneyHelper help me?
Are you worried about paying your next bill? Looking for pensions guidance? Need help with setting up a budget or concerned about the impact of COVID on your finances? Then you’ve come to the right place.
We want you to feel secure and in control of your money and we can help you achieve that. We’ve got plenty of useful guides on our website, covering debt, mortgages, borrowing, savings and more. We also have handy tools and calculators such as our Budget planner and the Benefits calculator.
I can’t find what I’m looking for - can I talk to someone at MoneyHelper?
Of course. We have trained and dedicated people who will be happy to help. For free and impartial money guidance, you can call us on 0800 138 7777 – for pensions guidance you can call 0800 011 3797. There are also plenty of other ways for you to get in touch: WhatsApp (Opens in a new window), webchat (Opens in a new window) or by using our online web form.
If you’d prefer to speak to someone in Welsh, then please get in touch with us 0800 138 0555.
Is MoneyHelper free?
You can access all our content and use our money and pensions guidance services completely free of charge. We can also signpost you to the hundreds of free, impartial and confidential debt advice services using our debt advice locator tool.
Can I trust MoneyHelper?
Yes. We are an arm’s-length body sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions and funded by levies on both the financial services industry and pension schemes. We also engage with HM Treasury on policy matters relating to financial capability and debt advice.
What about Pension Wise?
Pension Wise will be a service from MoneyHelper. In addition to the guidance found on the MoneyHelper website, the Pension Wise team will still be able to answer all your pension-related queries. You can get in touch with them on 0800 138 3944 or visit our website.
